What is Osteopathy?

Helping your body feel amazing.

Osteopathy is a holistic approach to healthcare focusing on the body’s self-healing nature and the relationship between the anatomical structure and the healthy functioning of the body.

Osteopathy treatment aims to promote healing, reduce pain, improve the body’s range of motion, circulation and overall wellbeing. Osteopaths incorporate a variety of non-invasive forms of hands-on treatments such as soft tissue therapy, joint mobilisation or manipulation, stretching, myofascial release, cranial osteopathy and muscle energy techniques. Management advice can include education and advice to support your recovery and overall well-being, including strength exercises, stretching routines, postural adjustments, and activity modifications. There may be discussion around exercise, nutrition, stress management, and lifestyle choices.

Osteopaths in Australia are primary health care practitioners who have undertaken up to 5 years+ of university study, after which they become AHPRA registered healthcare professionals. All osteopaths in Australia must comply with continuing professional development standards. Paris is a member of Osteopathy Australia- Australia’s Osteopathy Association
